IoT in Healthcare
The IoT in Healthcare ConsortiumTM is an affiliated organization of the Intelligent Health Association (IHA), operating under its auspices, guidelines and management.
Healthcare is one of the most underserved sectors. By contrast, IoT is a disruptive technology that has already exploded and influenced the future strategy of many companies, industries and academia. It has energized startups and entrepreneurs. Leveraging IoT in healthcare unleashes opportunities and unlimited possibilities for creativity and innovation in the diagnosis, treatment and transformation of illness to wellness.
To this end, a new consortium, IoT in Healthcare ConsortiumTM, was announced at the Intelligent Health Pavilion at HIMSS 2016 to help bring about vendor neutral education to end users and accelerate the adoption and advancement of IoT in healthcare in the health ecosystem.
The consortium will lead with vision and inspiration. It will encourage and support collaboration to bring about and accelerate ecosystem development and solutions spanning the healthcare supply chain. The consortium, through the Intelligent Health Association, will become an agent of change in demonstrating best of class healthcare services, intelligently connecting patients, doctors, clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, insurance and healthcare providers.
The consortium will be instrumental in increasing the level of awareness and education. It will accelerate market adoption and drive down the barriers to entry. Thus it will become an agent of change in communities, cities and countries focusing on how advancement of technology empowered by IoT in healthcare will help reduce suffering and enhance living.
Harry P. Pappas, Founder and CEO of the Intelligent Health Association and Fawzi Behmann are the two co- founders of this new consortium.
